Good points about business decline. The story suggests that the owner (franchise holder) isn’t aware what’s going on in the store. May I suggest that there is possibly another explanation? I know a number of folks who’ve worked/work in these kinds of establishments and all too often, it’s not that the staff is incompetent or lazy, but the owner/franchise holder is penny-pinching and cuts corners left and right. Good staff in that scenario moves on or gets fired when they speak up.
